why do people say “don’t be a pussy” when talking about weakness more like “don’t be a man’s ego” because you know there isn’t nothing more fragile than that
because “pussy” is the shortened form of the word “pusillanimous”, which means “timid, cowardly”
and not the slang word for the female genital region?
literally no one else knows this. nobody.
dont be a pusillanimous
look ok i understand that maybe the phrase has other roots etc etc, but when you straight up ask someone why they’re saying “don’t be a pussy” to someone, do you think they’re gonna reply with “oh its bc it originates from the word ‘pusillanimous’…”? regardless of how it came to be so commonly used, people say it because “pussy” is substituting for “woman”, but you can’t go around saying “don’t be such a woman” or else you’d be sexist. what’s next, “that took balls” actually comes from some long, obscure word with “ball” in it?
